Vinegar is a health remedy, a neutralizer, a cleaner, a condiment, and a preservative. It can kill bacteria, mold and germs, yet it is environmentally safe.

PH Vinegar Story:
The PH scale runs from acid to alkaline. This scale is normally 0 to 14. Acids and Alkalis tend to neutralize one another. When combined they form a neutral PH of 7. Baking Soda mixed with Vinegar is a good example. Because of this alkaline affect vinegar based cleaners perform best on mineral deposits (such as soap scum) and are least affective on grease.
Green Cleaning replacements for Everyday:
Windows: Vinegar or Vinegar and Water
Furniture Polish: (Lemon or Olive) Oil and Vinegar. Can be used for polishing or everyday dusting.
Cleaner: Vinegar, Water and add borax or soap. For additional antiseptic cleaning power you can add tea tree oil to your mixture of vinegar and water. Tea Tree oil also adds a nice aroma to your house or car.
General Housecleaning Tips:
- Always keep your cleaners in a baby or child proofed container and area. Store them in the area you will need them. Such as bathroom cleaners in the bathroom and kitchen cleaners in the Kitchen.
- Slowly integrate your homemade cleaners in with your commercial grade cleaners. Mix new ones as your run out of the old ones.
- Do not reuse the containers from your commercial cleaners. Purchase new ones or reuse milk containers and be sure to label each container with its contents.
Garden Tip:
Protect your garden hose from cold winters. Your garden hose when left to cold or winter weather can split and develop holes/leaks. When you determine its time to put your garden hose away till spring, remove your hose from the spigot or faucet. Make sure the hose is empty of water and wash it down with soap and water. Once rinsed mist your garden hose with Fleischmann’s Organic White Vinegar. The vinegar will deter both insects and mold. Let it dry and then store it in a dry place protected from the elements.
Weekly Green Household Remedy:
Does your car have an odor? Keep a bottle of Fleischmann's Organic White Vinegar and a bowl in the trunk of your car. Leaving a bowl of vinegar in a car overnight will remove any odors left behind by a carsick passenger or even man's best friend. You'll be on your way to an odor free road trip!
